My First Halloween!

I'm the one dressed as a cute baby here (with the pink hoodie!)... Me in my costume...

Today, Mommy & I went to the New Mothers Group and celebrated Halloween with all of our new friends! I was a Pea-In-A-Pod! I was a little uncomfortable in my costume, so I only wore it for a little while, but Mommy got a bunch of pictures of me in it... She also got a lot of pictures of my friends dressed up with their mommies...

Tonight, we went to Jack's house and Mommy and Daddy hung out with Debbie and Alex and ate Chinese food while the trick-or-treaters came to the door... It was a fun night!

New Pictures...

My New Friend

Today, the "lovey" that Mommy got for me finally arrived (well, two of him technically in case I lose one, so Mommy & Daddy don't lose their minds!)... He's a little yellow duck blankie that has my name embroidered on the side. I was cuddling with him all night and I was even holding him myself! Mommy & Daddy have been cuddling with him too so he gets their scent on him and I find him even more comforting... They decided to name him "Quacker" because if they called him "Duck" or "Ducky" and I have trouble with my pronounciation at first, well, things could get awkward if I call out for him in public! Aunt Stacy and Uncle Cully had that problem with Cousin Evan - he was a big fan of his truck (but it didn't exactly sound like that's what he was yelling out!)...

In the afternoon, Mommy and I went for a walk with her friend Stacey and Maya on Greenwich Avenue and Mommy got me a pair of tights to match my BabyGap dress that I'm going to wear on Thanksgiving... We had lunch at Katzenberg's deli where Maya and Mommy "shared" Maya's muffin and Mommy's salad. Maya's very polite - she says "Thank You" all the time! I also had "lunch" in the Giggle store and then had a snack in the parking lot of PetSmart on the way home. I got really, really hungry during the car ride and made sure Mommy knew it!

Miss Popularity!

The past few days I had a lot of visitors from all over the place! Mommy & Daddy's friends Chris (Mr. Kunz), Alison, Billy & Bree, and Nicki all came over to hang out... It was so nice to meet all of them and I was a perfect little lady...

Yesterday, Mommy had the playgroup at our house. Even though the weather was bad, almost everyone came out to play. I spent alot of time napping in my swing, and Oscar was pretty upset that he couldn't join in the fun. Mommy left him upstairs because he tends to become a little too excited when there are people over. He got one of his favorite bones to play with and chew on, so hopefully that made up for it!

After the other mommies and babies left, Debbie and Jack stayed for the rest of the afternoon and we all watched "Leatherheads" with George Clooney. All four of us were drooling - I wonder if Mommy and Debbie are teething...?

Mommy's New Necklace!

Mommy got a necklace with my name and birthdate on it as a little present to herself (and a way to brag about me whenever possible!)... She had it made on etsy.com and the woman who made it sent her a picture of it today. She should get it in the mail by early next week and can't wait to finally wear it...

New Mothers (& Babies!) Group

I'm one month old today! Mommy & Daddy are going to take a picture of me later with a little sign telling everyone how old I am. I'll have to make sure I'm wearing something really cute!

Today, Mommy and I went to the Friday group at Stamford Hospital again... I was taking a really good nap on Mommy this morning so she didn't want to wake me, but somehow we still made it there on time... This time, Mommy remembered to bring her camera and take some pictures of her friends in the group (and my new friends, too!).

My Busy Social Calendar...

Today, Mommy and I went to Jenna & Olivia's house for a playgroup with Michelle & Colin, Debbie & Jack, and Lesley & Lauren! It was really nice for Mommy to get out for a little while and she had a really good time chatting with her new friends from the New Mother's Group at Stamford Hospital... I was a perfect little lady; I had lunch and a diaper change, then slept in Mommy's arms for most of the time. Next week, we're going to have the playgroup at our house!

When we got home, I decided to kick things up a notch and spent the entire afternoon and evening cycling between eating, pooping, and puking (on me and Mommy - two outfits for both of us before Mommy gave up!). There was a bit of whining and crying in there too but eventually Mommy calmed down... I settled down a lot during "tummy time" when I fell asleep on my mat. It wasn't how "tummy time" was supposed to go, but at that point Mommy wasn't going to complain!

Boy, was she happy when Daddy came home tonight! Maybe I'll give them a break and sleep for a nice long five-hour stretch tonight??? Nah.....

Across State Lines!!

On Saturday, Aunt Rachel called and asked Mommy if she and Daddy wanted to come to New Jersey to visit with Cousin Ayla and Corey's baby, Jacob. Much to everyone's surprise, we went! I was a trooper in the car and slept for the whole car ride... It was a lot of fun for Mommy and Daddy to see Aunt Rachel and Uncle Brian; everyone was so surprised at how little I am compared to Jacob - he's only eight weeks older than me! I had my diaper changed on the living room floor and it exhausted me - I was yawning the whole time, and I slept in Daddy's arms for most of the day...

Today, Mommy took me to the pediatrician because my belly button pops out when I'm crying and pooping (EW!)... She said I have a hernia, but that it should correct itself by the time I'm one or two years old and she told Mommy that it doesn't hurt me. I've gained some weight too, I'm now a full pound above my birth weight (8 pounds, 8 ounces)! I'm getting to be such a big girl!

My First Full Day Out!

Today, Mommy & I went to the New Mothers Group at Stamford Hospital (where I was born)... I wore my new hoodie sweatshirt because it was a little chilly out today & I was stylin'! The meeting started at 11 o'clock, but Mommy was a little bit nervous about getting us both ready in time and went a little overboard - we got there at 10:20! Mommy watched me sleeping in my carseat and returned some phone calls until the other mommies got there with their babies. I was the youngest one there and everyone kept commenting on how cute and tiny I am...

After the meeting, Mommy and I went out to lunch at California Pizza Kitchen with Debbie and Jack, and another mom from the group, Lesley, with her baby Lauren. It was a lot of fun (I slept through it), and Mommy was so excited to be out and about!

We got home around 3 o'clock and I "had lunch", then promptly fell asleep in my Pack-N-Play while Mommy had a snack. Even though I was sleeping peacefully, Mommy missed holding me all day (since I was in my carseat most of the time), so she picked me up and held me for the rest of my nap while Oscar snuggled up at her feet...

My First Playdate!

Today, Mommy took me to her friend Debbie's house to have lunch and go for a walk around the neighborhood. Debbie's son Jack and I "ate lunch" together and then hung out (slept) in our strollers while Mommy and Debbie went for a walk to get rid of some "bonus" baby weight... Jack is really cute, but he's much older than me (he'll be ten weeks old on Friday) and I think I'm too young to date. Maybe when I can hold my head up or I'm spitting up a little less, he'll be more interested...? Mommy was a little nervous about going out for such a long time by ourselves, but everything worked out okay and I was really well-behaved.

My first "big girl" bath!

Last night, Mommy and Daddy took me out to dinner for the first time. We went to the Black Bear Saloon in Downtown Stamford and sat outside. Mommy was looking forward to getting out of the house and Daddy was in the mood for some wings... I was so excited for our first time out to dinner as a family that I slept the whole time in my car seat!

Today, Mommy and my doula Ellen, gave me my first "big girl" bath in my tub... I loved it! I didn't cry once and made cooing sounds when Mommy poured the warm water over me to clean off the soap. Mommy took a bunch of pictures of me in my hooded lamb towel afterwards and I was feeling cooperative, so I looked at the camera for almost all of them!

So much to see!

This morning, when Mommy put me in my swing, I looked up and found the little animals and the mirror that spin around while the music plays! Mommy and Daddy were so excited and proud of me. I guess this means I am starting to see things a bit further away and my focusing is getting better... Last night, Mommy called the pediatrician at 2am because she was nervous that I was having bad poops. It turns out that everything was okay and I'll just have to wear an extra layer of "Butt Paste" to keep my tushie from getting too red! All the excitement must have exhausted me; I came into bed with Mommy & Daddy around 9 o'clock this morning and after Mommy fed me, we all stayed in bed together and slept until almost noon!
