Four Months!
Today, I went for my Four Month checkup! Mommy & Daddy can't believe I'm getting so big! I'm 24" long and a petite 12 1/2 pounds. I was very brave during my shots, and once again, Mommy & Daddy weren't - they're getting a little better though. Dr. LePage said I can start on solids and maybe that will bulk me up! I seem to have Daddy's build right now, but my thighs look a LOT like Mommy's!!! I'm excited to try rice cereal for the first time tomorrow - I'm sure there will be plenty of messy pictures to follow!
Hanging out with Cousin Brett
Yesterday, Aunt Stacy and Cousin Brett came over to spend the afternoon with me and Mommy. Brett was very well-behaved and even slept a little bit! Mommy and Aunt Stacy had Chinese food for lunch and I kept them company in my seat on the table. Then they made Brett and I pose for about a million pictures (but we didn't mind that much)!
Great-Grandma Gert!
On Tuesday, I got to meet my Great-Grandma Gert! While she was walking around the room, I couldn't take my eyes off of her and watched every move she made... She was very, very sweet to me and sang "I Love You, A Bushel and A Peck" while she was holding me. She used to sing that song to Mommy when she was little, too! I put on a real smiling show for her!

Mommy & Daddy's First Date (as parents)!

Mommy and Daddy went out on their first "date night" last night and Ann Marie (my new babysitter) watched me... I was very well-behaved because I slept the entire time! Mommy and Daddy knew that Ann Marie could handle me (she has five year-old triplet girls!!), but they were worried about how she would deal with Oscar! She told them he was really good, but they're a little doubtful!
This week I took my baths in the new seat Mommy got me because I'm in-between the sling and the tub... I really liked it! Today, I cuddled with Daddy on the couch while he watched the game, and Mommy took some pictures of me playing and making faces. This afternoon I was "talking" up a storm to Mommy and Daddy got it all on video! Soon enough, they'll be able to understand what I'm saying! In the meantime, I still seem to keep them entertained...

Grandma & Grandpa's

Yesterday, Mommy and I went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for the afternoon and for dinner... I hadn't seen them since I was sick and so I put on a little show! I rolled over for Grandma and couldn't stop staring and smiling at Grandpa. he was such a good sport and kept sticking his tongue out at me (because he knows that's my favorite game)! I played in the bouncy seat while they ate dinner and didn't let out a peep! I was concentrating really hard on my hands - lately they've been getting stuck together so it takes me a while to get them "un-stuckl"! They both kept marveling at how well-behaved I was. I think they'll let me come back again for dinner (soon I hope!)...
I also wanted to post a picture that Mommy & Daddy took of Oscar this weekend... He was really sleepy and Mommy wrapped him up in a blanket. He looked so silly!

Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'...
Yesterday, I decided to put on a real show for Mommy and Daddy (they seemed to need it after this past week), so I rolled over for them! I was on my activity mat and Mommy put me down for tummy time. She was so excited because I was lifting my head up really high and then I flipped onto my side! Daddy was on his way home and so she called to tell him what I had done. After about four minutes and a lot of cheerleading on Mommy's part, I finally rolled over! She was so excited and so was I! I gave her a huge smile and a bunch of coos... Boy was I glad to be back on my back!
Daddy got home just a few minutes later and Mommy put me on my tummy again hoping that I would show him my new trick. This time, I completely rolled over, to the other side and it only took me about five seconds! A few minutes later I did it to the first side again, too... I think I'm stronger on my right side since that one I can do really quickly, but practice makes perfect!
Daddy mentioned that I was trying to get up onto my knees and that before we knew it I'd be crawling. At that point, Mommy broke into a sweat. Tee hee...

RSV - Really Stupid Virus!
I haven't been able to post in 2009 yet because I've been really sick. Mommy and Daddy and I have "visited" Dr. LePage so many times this week (since last Monday we only missed one day), that Mommy offered to bring in her dry cleaning and coffee!
I started out with a little cough and then I also had a runny nose, and then the poop hit the fan and I was having a lot of trouble breathing... I had to take a trip to the Emergency Room at 4 o'clock in the morning on Saturday and it turns out that I have the RSV virus... Everyone kept warning them that I was going to scream for all of the tests and examinations and nebulizer treatments, but I was really good and only cried once (metal q-tip up the nose will do that to anyone!). It was really scary for Mommy and Daddy because I kept coughing so hard I would throw up and couldn't catch my breath. The good news is, I took about a dozen steam showers, so my skin should look amazing!
Mommy and Daddy tried the best they could to work as a team and take care of me. I moved back into their room in my bassinette so they could make sure I didn't forget to breathe while I was sleeping and they took turns "on watch" and sleeping on the couch.
Yesterday, Dr. LePage said that my chest was still wheezing, but that it looked like I had "turned the corner" and should be starting to get better soon... I slept in my own crib last night and was very smiley for Mommy and Daddy again. Boy, did they seem excited to see me smiling and hear me cooing again - they sure are easy to please!!
All of my friends and family have been so sweet calling and checking up on me (and Mommy & Daddy) everyday - I'm a very lucky little girl!
